MEET THE ARTIST

Raised in the misty mountains of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, I spent many of my days dwelling in the small, cluttered area that was my bedroom. I liked to draw little pictures, and create stories with my dolls and toys as I sat on the floor amongst my mess. Sometimes I would venture outside to create little fairy gardens and whisper to the butterflies.

As an adult, I now live in Brisbane and maintain my sense of wonder and adventure through my creations.

My work comes from a universe that is very much the essence of myself. It is full of magical and mutated creatures, odd natural wonders, and subconscious symbolism, some of which I am still trying to decode. The deities of this universe are the Omnipotent Babies, which show up from time to time in my art. My more realistic stuff serves as a kind of bridge between my world and what others call reality.

As a creative, I refuse to be restricted to a single medium or style and instead prefer to flow freely between projects and mediums as it suits my mood and needs. I find that personally this allows me to stay passionate about my work, create more, and avoid feelings of being stuck or blocked. I create across multiple disciplines such as acrylic painting, sculpture, jewellery, graphic design, and illustration, and sell my work through retail stores, online, and at small local art markets.

Much of my inspiration comes from my 90s upbringing, old school practical effects & stopmotion, DIY culture, nature & spirituality, and the mysteries of universe.
